Statistics flashcard deck
🛠️ Statistics flashcard deck
💡 Use Case
- A spaced-repetition deck built through the spring module, from 2 February to the final on 10 June: about 140 cards in the end, five to ten a week after each lecture.
- One question per card, written by me on the tram home, in my own bad wording first and the correct wording underneath.
- It carried most of 🧪 Spaced review of lecture notes in the six weeks before the final. The course itself is at 00. Statistics for Product Decisions I Hub.
- Ten minutes a day, usually at the tram stop. The deck decides what I see, on the logic of the 🧩 Forgetting curve.
⚖️ Pros & Cons
Pros
- Cards that ask what is wrong with this sentence. The wrong definition of a confidence interval is on four cards and I can now hear it across a room.
- Writing the card was half the learning. Reviewing it was the other third.
- Midterm 68, final 74. Not all of that is the deck, and not none.
Cons
- Formula cards. I could recite the standard error and not say when to use it.
- Forty cards in one evening before the midterm. They all came due on the same day for a month.
- Anyone else's deck. I downloaded one, understood the answers and none of the questions.
🔄 Alternatives
- Reworking the problem sets, which is better for doing and worse for remembering.
- Explaining it to Rasmus Kjær on Tuesdays before class. Still the best test, and it has no review schedule.
